Completed Projects: 2003

Pre School Environmental Garden - Roseau
A garden was developed, with $20,000 from the British High Commission, in the grounds of the Alliance Francaise Building c/o Shebacare Pre- School.
This garden was designed for under fives to discover their environment, appreciate flowers and trees, learn about conservation and recycling, grow vegetables and play in a beautiful surrounding.
As well as planting a garden, a playhouse and three movable paintings of life-size fauna indigenous to the island have been produced.
The Project was opened by the High Commissioner on June 26th 2003 and continues to serve the Nation.

Campbell Bridge Project
Campbell Bridge was been extended and safety railings erected together with a warning sign, thanks to a grant for materials of over $6,000 from the British High Commission.
The Campbell Government School Principal, in collaboration with the Village Council, coordinated the project with donations from community members and merchants in time, labour and kind.
The High Commissioner opened this Project on June 27th.

Castle Bruce Bridge Project
Actually initiated with a letter to the British High Commission in 2001, this project was finally opened in November 2003.
The initial grant of EC$10,000 was stretched by enormous community effort and significant donations of materials from the Ministry of Communications & Works.
The Arc Welding Trainees used the railings project as a work placement and what was initially envisaged as a temporary footbridge has eventually appeared as a very solid six-foot wide concrete bridge.
Still awaiting funds for permanent steps the bridge is already in use as a thoroughfare and save many feet from getting wet en route to church and school.
